North Kona
The North Kona district is the quintessential Hawaii vacation spot and active sport fishing center. Sport fishing teams come from around the world to compete in the Hawaii International Billfish Tournament for record-breaking marlin found in the waters around North Kona.
The North Kona coast is also a popular snorkeling and scuba diving destination, boasting rich coral reefs and abundant marine-life.
The coast is dotted with ancient Hawaiian historical sites, some are found within the town of Kailua-Kona, which hosts Hawaii's first church and "Hulihee Place" our earliest western building. Kona also has the island's international airport and accepts flights from neighboring islands as well as the mainland.
